Formula E is back in Brooklyn

 
 

For the second year running, the ABB FIA Formula E Championship returns to Red Hook, Brooklyn for the double-header season finale 2018 Qatar Airways New York City E-Prix, on July 14 & 15.

With two races taking place back to back, all 10 teams and 20 drivers will battle it out against the backdrop of the iconic Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty. What for? In a bid to be crowned this season's Formula E champion.

Featuring an even longer track than last season, spanning 2.373km, the drivers will race along the waterfront, in front of fans and families, lining the track. Who will win? Join us to find out. It's all still to play for.

Allianz E-Village

Away from the track, there's the Allianz E-Village - a full day festival of entertainment and innovation for families and fans of all ages.

As well as being home to the driver autograph session, there's the opportunity to get involved with a variety of fantastic displays and activities, such as:

  • The latest electric & hybrid vehicles from Audi, Jaguar and BMW i in the Drive Zone

  • The chance to test your skills in the Gaming Simulators and earn an opportunity to compete against Formula E drivers in the E-Race

  • Attend the autograph session and meet your favourite drivers before the race

  • Marvel at the latest innovations from leading enterprises in technology, transport and human resources

  • Enjoy live music and entertainment in the Stage Zone

  • Sample a range of authentic local food and drink in the Taste Zone and take a break from it all in the Recharge Zone

  • A Kids Zone with giant games, face painting, entertainers and much more

With activities for fans of all ages, the Allianz E-Village is the chance to experience all Formula E has to offer away from the track. Be sure to stay to the end to enjoy the podium Mumm champagne celebrations too!

Meet the drivers

In the E-Village, you will have the chance to meet the drivers at the autograph session and witness the raw emotion of the podium ceremony. If you rate your driving skills, you can get behind the wheel of a racing simulator to win the chance to go wheel-to-wheel against the actual Formula E drivers during the E-Race, which takes place in the build-up to the main event.

 
 

HOW TO GET THERE

The site has four entrances:

E1: The intersection of Ferris & Sullivan

E2: Pier 11 near the Atlantic Basin Ferry Landing

E3: The intersection of Imlay & Pioneer St

E4: The intersection of Bowne and Imlay Street

 

SUBWAY

The closest subway stop is Carroll Gardens/Smith St. Take the F train (orange line) to Carroll Gardens Station. There will be a free event shuttle from this station (click here for map).

From Manhattan you can take the 2, 3, 4, Q, R, N or D train to Barclays Center Stop and take a free event shuttle to the venue (click here for map).

RIDESHARE (click here for map)

Dropoff will be on Richards St. between King St. & Verona St.  There will be no parking or long waiting area for rideshare cars. All traffic must keep moving.

SHUTTLE BUS

Barclays Center: Guest pick-up is at the bus load in area on Flatbush.  

Carroll Gardens: Guest pick-up is on the corner of Smith St / 2nd Place.  

DROP-OFF / PICK UP AREA at VENUE: The bus drop-off pick up area at the venue is closest to e1 entrance. If you have tickets, proceed to the gate. If you need tickets, proceed to the ticket center at Red Hook Labs, on the corner of Imlay & Verona.

Buses will run continuously throughout the day from each location, however bus pickups to the venue stop at 3:00pm. Buses will continue to pick up at the venue back to Barclays Center and Carroll Gardens station until 7:00 pm.

Saturday:  7:30 am - 7:00 pm
Sunday: 7:30 am - 7:00 pm

CAR

There is no parking on site or around the area.  We strongly advise you not to drive to this event.

BICYCLES (click here for map)

There is a free bicycle valet at e4.  Please make sure you take proper care around event traffic.  Bicycles cannot be left overnight.

CITIBIKE

The Citibike station on Commerce and Van Brunt Street will be attended in order to allow more guests to ride Citibikes to the event.  Please note this station is the only attended Citibike station in Red Hook.

PUBLIC BUS

The B61 public bus route takes you through Red Hook to downtown Brooklyn or to Park Slope.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS

Fans in wheelchairs arriving by public transport are advised to use the city sidewalks to access the venue using entrance E3 on Pioneer Street.

If arriving by bus shuttle, the bus shuttle drop off point is at Dikeman & Ferris Street and use the e1 entrance. 

There is a dedicated ADA platform in the E-Village at Turn 9, and an ADA section at the front of both Grandstands 1A & 2. Tickets for the ADA sections at the front of the grandstands are available to purchase. 

There is an ADA accessible elevator at the bridge near Pioneer street as well as track crossings each day.  Track crossings each day (subject to change):

CONDITIONS FOR VENUE ENTRY

  • Please arrive with plenty of time as security searches will be in operation
  • Bring only what you need and please travel light, it will speed up your security search to allow more time in the Allianz E-Village!
  • No food can be brought into the venue however there are plenty of options to purchase local food from within the Allianz E-Village
